Castrol’s XBB cutting fluid range, available for both aluminum machining (Alusol XBB) and cast-iron and steel machining (Hysol XBB) ensures that the pH value remains stable over a longer time due to its dual-action chemical buffer.
The more stable pH value also enables the end user to reduce the use of high-cost additives, in particular biocides, resulting in long-term cost and HSSE benefits. Machine operators and maintenance technicians also benefit from greater health protection and the potential exposure to harmful biocides. All the cutting fluids in the XBB range, comply with all applicable regulations and are free of boron and formaldehyde.
The Techniclean XBC product range offers a long bath life and through its innovative, compatible chemistry: Used Techniclean XBC can be recycled back into Castrol’s XBB cutting fluids, without compromising machining performance. This holistic approach of recycling the used cleaner solution into a compatible cutting fluid enables a significant reduction in water consumption. What would normally have been waste, turns into a reusable resource. This lowers the operating costs of both metalworking and component cleaning processes.
Additionally, Castrol SmartControl combined with SmartBlend enables metalworking fluid central systems to be automatically and consistently monitored and controlled. This ensures that the optimum coolant concentrations are tightly maintained, resulting in a more stable machining process.
Castrol offers metalworking manufacturers valuable aids to optimize their production processes. Impacting not only performance parameters, such as output, cycle times, productivity, and process costs but also critical environmental factors, such as resource conservation, waste reduction and recycling.

Switchting ON the rEVolution
A report commissioned by Castrol and bp pulse into the readiness for transition to electric vehicles.
The last 12 months have been revolutionary for the automotive industry, as many governments ramp up their net-zero ambitions with clear targets to phase out internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
Switching ON the rEVolution is a global opinion research study amongst 10,000 consumers and 100 automotive executives, exploring levels of readiness for the switch from ICE vehicles to electric vehicles (EVs). For the purposes of this study EVs refers to fully electric vehicles (also known as battery electric vehicles), unless otherwise stated.
The study spans 10 key markets: ANZ (Australia and New Zealand), China, France, Germany, India, Japan, the Nordics (Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark), Turkey, the UK and the US.
“It’s an exciting time for the automotive industry and we are committed to working with our industry partners to help bring forward the next generation of technologies and help accelerate the transition to EVs. The world of transport is going electric and products such as Castrol ON EV Fluids and bp pulse charging solutions will have an important role to play.”
