- What area of the lubricants industry do you specialise in, and how does it benefit the industry?
Otodata, as the biggest global tank monitoring solution provider, offers a wide service portfolio including oil and lubricant monitoring. Our innovative system has been developed for petrochemical products and its renewable and sustainable alternatives such as, lubes, hydraulic oils, AdBlue and more. In the lubricant industry, we have gained a lot of traction with engine and gear oil tanks as well as process oils.
In terms of benefits, our solutions provide customers with substantial savings in terms of purchasing management, oil distribution and inventory optimalisation. Logistics support is also a valuable advantage as it prevents stock shortages. Our services improve customer satisfaction by eliminating the need to constantly monitor inventory.
- What do you think are the industry’s biggest challenges?
Lubricants, as well as fuels, are products consumed for many purposes. In most cases their consumption is a necessity that impacts daily business operations and consumers. We are focused on all the challenges associated with eliminating the risk of shortages and run outs. Remote tank monitoring systems also help to manage an oil distributor’s inventory more efficiently and accurately. It provides daily inventory reports, detects critical lows and increased consumption. It also tracks tank filling statistics, indicating the time and volume added.
Otodata offers a solution to one of the biggest challenges our industry is currently facing. Thanks to accurate data provided by our services, marketers no longer need to predict the future. This allows companies to optimize purchasing and logistics, resulting in substantial savings.
- How do you see the industry developing over the next 10+ years?
In most industries, maintaining current operational data in the cloud has become common practice. We believe that efficient data processing will facilitate the implementation of fuel delivery costs. We also note that although technology is evolving, most lubricant delivery orders are still being made by traditional methods, e.g. by telephone or online forms. We see vast potential in automating these processes and have the resources to support and integrate with existing customer platforms.
On the commercial side, considering the large-scale implementation of a telemetry system, we offer the possibility of a HAAS (hardware as a service) program, eliminating upfront investment based only on monthly fee for provided data.
- What will you be showcasing on your stand at Lubricant Expo?
We will be presenting our award-winning remote tank level monitor, including our online portal and branded app. With over 2 million installations worldwide, it is currently the most recognized and reliable telemetry solution on the market. For the first time ever, we will also be presenting our new volume probe, based on capacitive technology. The capacitive probe combines the most comprehensive and accurate measuring capabilities, reading the entire tank height, all the way to the bottom. In addition, the new probe is equipped with a Bluetooth transmitter that enables us to measure the volume of tanks located underground.
- What are you most looking forward to seeing at the show?
We believe that this event will be the perfect place for us to meet and exchange knowledge with oil and lubricant industry experts. Also, it will be an excellent opportunity to find common ground between their current operational needs and our remote tank level solution.
