The Carbon Puzzle: Getting a Grip on Data, Processes and Measurements and Scope 1-3 Carbon Reductions
Thursday, 9 May 2024
Organizations are keen to understand the carbon footprint of the products and components used within their supply chain and, ideally, sum it up in a simple metric. According to Deloitte, for many businesses, Scope 3 emissions account for more than 70 percent of their carbon footprint. This is no easy feat, however, as it requires a lot of data points and there is no standardized process or methodology. This session will focus on the industry’s efforts to understand, measure, and achieve scope 2 & 3 carbon reductions of lubricant manufacturing. The panel will discuss the following points:
- Harmonization of industry certifications and methodologies for carbon footprint calculations and carbon accounting
- Incoming EU regulations
- OEM and Tier 1 perspectives on carbon reduction across the supply chain
